Cetoute Selected in CFL Canadian Draft

MOUNT PLEASANT - Central Michigan University receiver Obed Cétoute (Montreal, Quebec/Vanier College) was drafted by the Toronto Argonauts in the 2006 Canadian Football League Canadian Draft on Thursday.
Cétoute was selected by the Argonauts with the sixth pick in the fourth round. He was the 31st player selected overall.
Cétoute has one season of eligibility remaining at CMU. He had the best season of his collegiate career in 2005, catching 27 passes for 364 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He averaged 13.5 yards per reception, second among his teammates.
Cétoute caught at least one pass in nine of CMU's 11 games in 2005, including a career-best eight-catch, 91-yard performance against Western Michigan on Nov. 12. He caught touchdown passes against Miami (Sept. 10) and Northern Illinois (Nov. 5) and made a career-long 41-yard reception against Ohio on Oct. 15.
Cétoute and the Chippewas concluded spring practice on Thursday. They open the 2006 season on Aug. 31, hosting Boston College at 6 p.m. ESPN2 will televise the contest live to a national audience.
