MOUNT PLEASANT - The Central Michigan University football program will host a barbeque following Saturday's spring game in Kelly/Shorts Stadium.
The scrimmage, which is free and open to the public, begins at 11 a.m. and is expected to last approximately 90 minutes. The general public is then invited to the barbeque lunch, which will be served outside the locker room building in the north end of Kelly/Shorts Stadium. In case of inclement weather, the barbeque will be held in the concourse on the west side of the stadium.
Cost of the barbeque is $7 for adults and $4 for children ages 12 and under. The first 80 CMU students with a student ID will be admitted for free; all other CMU students are $4 with an ID. The menu includes hamburgers and bratwursts, as well as potato salad, pasta salad, chips, cookies and beverages.
A select group of CMU players will also be available to sign autographs following the scrimmage.
Saturday's spring game is just the 10th of 15 spring dates permitted under NCAA guidelines. The Chippewas will practice five more times over the course of two weeks following the spring game.
