Hudson Invited to USA Softball Selection Camp

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- Central Michigan University sophomore Amy Hudson (Everett, Wash./Everett HS) has been invited by USA Softball to participate in a selection camp for the 2006 World University Games. The camp will take place June 9-11 at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif.
Of the 40 players invited, 18 will be selected to represent USA Softball in the 2006 World University Games in Taiwan, July 15-23.
Hudson, who plays third base, is a two-time first team All-Mid-American Conference selection. She led the MAC in hitting this past season with a school-record .414 batting average. For the last two seasons she has led CMU in hitting, RBI and runs scored.
Of the players selected for the camp, 19 are from the Pac-10 Conference, seven from the Southeastern Conference, six from the Big 12 and four from the Big Ten. Traditional Top 25 schools Fresno State, Louisiana-Lafayette and Virginia Tech also had players selected.
USA Softball announced 13 invitees this week, in addition to 27 previously invited individuals.
