CMU at Clemson
Duane Brooks’ touchdown catch on CMU’s opening drive was the first touchdown reception of his career. He added his second career touchdown reception in the third quarter.
Duane Brooks matched a career high with five receptions and established a new career high with 49 receiving yards.
CMU scored a touchdown on its opening drive for the third time in the last four games.
Josh Gordy’s interception on Clemson’s opening drive was the sixth interception of his career. He has picked off four passes in the last two games.
CMU’s captains for the Clemson game were Red Keith, Ike Brown, Curtis Cutts and Eric Tunney.
The attendance for Saturday’s game was 81,000 the fifth-largest crowd to ever watch a CMU football game.
CMU had won 10 consecutive games played during the month of October prior to the loss at Clemson.
The Chippewas are now 0-4 all-time against members of the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Dan LeFevour threw a pair of touchdown passes against Clemson, the 12th time in his career he has thrown at least two touchdown passes in a game. He has thrown nine touchdown passes in the last three games.
Redshirt freshman Carl Volny was CMU’s leading rusher with 36 yards on 10 carries. It was just the second game Volny in which has played during his collegiate career.
Dan LeFevour moved into third place on CMU’s career total offense list. He has now accounted for 5,976 yards of offense in his career.
Red Keith was credited with 10 tackles, the 20th time in his career he has recorded double-digit tackles in a game. He is now third all-time at CMU with 415 career tackles.
Dan LeFevour has completed 199 passes in 2007, the third-most in a season in school history. His 2,424 yards of offense this season ranks fifth in school history.
Antonio Brown caught six passes to increase his team-leading season total to 58. His 58 catches are the sixth-most in a season in school history.
All nine of CMU’s games this season have been decided by at least 20 points. The Chippewas are the only Football Bowl Subdivision program to have all of their games decided by at least 20 points this season.
CMU is now 4-1 in 2007 when it scores the first points of the game.
