CMU Postgame Notes
November 16, 2007
Eleven seniors played in their final home game Friday night. CMU’s 11 seniors are Ike Brown, Red Keith, Eric Tunney, Tony Mikulec, Michael Raffaeli, Justin Gardner, Steven Friend, Victor Doman, Curtis Cutts, Mike Decker and Jemmy Jasmin.
CMU’s captains for the Eastern Michigan game were the eight seniors in uniform for the contest: Ike Brown, Tony Mikulec, Red Keith, Eric Tunney, Victor Doman, Michael Raffaeli, Steven Friend and Justin Gardner.
CMU’s 14-0 first-quarter deficit was its largest deficit in a conference game in 2007.
Justin Hoskins’ 76-yard touchdown run in the first quarter was CMU’s longest play from scrimmage in 2007.
Tommy Mama recorded his first career interception in the second quarter.
Dan LeFevour rushed for a touchdown and passed for a touchdown in the same game for the ninth time in his career. He ran for multiple touchdowns for the sixth time.
With his first completion of the game, Dan LeFevour set new single-season and career school records for completions. He broke Kent Smith’s record of 255 completions set in 2005 and Jeff Bender’s career record of 502 completions from 1988-91. LeFevour now has 281 completions in 2007 and 528 completions in his career.
Senior linebacker Red Keith led the CMU defense with 13 tackles against EMU. With 442 career tackles, he is now one tackle shy of matching Ray Bentley in second place on the career tackles list with 443.
With six receptions tonight, freshman Antonio Brown broke Bryan Anderson's single-season record for receptions set last season. Brown now has 77 on the year, four more than Anderson's 73 in 2006. Anderson also had six catches tonight and his 2007 total of 69 receptions ranks third on the single-season list.
Sophomore kicker Andrew Aguila made good on all six of his point-after attempts tonight, raising his PAT total to 46 on the season. That total is second-highest in a season, two behind Rick Albreski's 48 successful PAT's a season ago.
CMU lost for the first time this season when scoring 30 or more points in a game. It's 45 points scored were the most in a loss since a 61-58 defeat in four overtimes against EMU in 2004 at Ford Field in Detroit, and the most ever scored in a loss in regulation.
Redshirt freshman Kito Poblah caught his first career touchdown pass with a 20-yard hookup from LeFevour in the second quarter.
