LeFevour, Brown Honored by MAC Report Online

MOUNT PLEASANT - MAC Report Online has recognized two Central Michigan University football players in its postseason award selections.
Sophomore quarterback Dan LeFevour was named Mid-American Conference Offensive MVP by the outlet, while freshman receiver Antonio Brown was selected MAC Freshman of the Year.
Brown is the third consecutive Chippewa to collected MAC Report Online's Freshman of the Year honor, following LeFevour (2006) and running back Ontario Sneed (2005).
LeFevour leads the MAC in total offense, completions and completion percentage, ranks second in passing efficiency and pass attempts, tied for second in touchdown passes and third in passing yards and rushing touchdowns. He has been named MAC West Division Offensive Player of the Week three times in 2007 and was USA Today's National Player of the Week after accounting for 251 passing yards, 100 rushing yards and six touchdowns (two passing, four rushing) against Army on Oct. 13.
His efforts against Army came one week after he posted 506 yards of total offense (360 passing, 146 rushing), the third-highest single-game total in MAC history, and six touchdowns (five passing, one rushing) in a 58-38 win at Ball State. His five touchdown passes against the Cardinals matched a school record.
LeFevour has completed a school-record 281 passes this season while also rushing for 13 touchdowns, the second-most of any Football Bowl Subdivision quarterback. He is the first quarterback in school history to rush for 100 yards in back-to-back games and the first CMU signal-caller since Ron Fillmore in 1983 to post two 100-yard rushing games in the same season.
Brown has caught a school-record 77 passes this season and accounted for a MAC freshman record 1,809 all-purpose yards. As a receiver, kick returner and punt returner, Brown is averaging 14.4 yards every time he touches the football. He was named MAC West Division Special Teams Player of the Week after returning a kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown in a 35-10 win over Northern Illinois.
Brown has caught at least four passes in every game this season and collected nine receptions in a game three times. He leads the Chippewas in receptions and ranks second in receiving yards.
Brown is tied for second in the MAC in receptions and ranks fourth in kickoff returns and all-purpose yards. Nationally, he is tied for 13th in receptions, 16th in all-purpose yards and 17th kickoff return yardage; among freshmen nationally, he ranks second in receptions, all-purpose yards and kickoff return yardage.
CMU (6-5 overall, 5-1 MAC, 4-1 MAC West) closes the regular season at Akron on Friday at 11 a.m. The Chippewas will face Miami in the 2007 MAC Championship Game at Ford Field in Detroit on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 11 a.m.
