CMU at Akron - November 23, 2007
CMU’s win at Akron was its fourth straight in a regular season finale.
The Chippewas have now won nine straight against MAC East Division opponents and 11 straight against MAC opponents from the state of Ohio.
CMU has now won seven games in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 1980-81.
Antonio Brown set a school record with 15 receptions against Akron. He also set a career high with 174 receiving yards.
Dan LeFevour set a new single-season passing yardage record in the win. He has thrown for 3,175 yards in his career. He has accounted for 4,013 yards of total offense this season, also a school record.
LeFevour also set a school record with 514 yards of total offense, topping his previous best of 506 yards at Ball State earlier this season. His 514 yards against the Zips is the third-highest single-game total in MAC history.
CMU’s 639 yards of total offense is the second-highest single-game total in school history. The 257 yards rushing are the second-highest total in a game in 2007.
Red Keith made 13 tackles to move into second place on the school’s all-time tackles list. He now has 455 career stops.
Andrew Aguila set a new CMU single-season record for point-after kicks against Akron. He has converted 49 extra-point kicks this season.
Dan LeFevour’s 382 passing yards are a career high and tied for the fifth-highest single-game total in school history. His 32 completions are the fourth-most in a game in school history. LeFevour’s 54 attempts are the second-most of his career and third-most in school history.
LeFevour ran for 132 yards and two touchdowns. It was his third 100-yard rushing game of the season and the third straight game in which he rushed for two or more touchdowns. His 43-yard touchdown run in the second quarter was the longest rush of his career.
CMU’s captains for the Akron game were Ike Brown, Red Keith and Eric Tunney.
Senior Michael Raffaeli made his first career start against Akron. He started at left guard. Ronnie Ekdahl made his first start of the season on the defensive line.
Ontario Sneed’s touchdown run in the second quarter was his first touchdown since he scored three times against Toledo on Sept. 8.
Bryan Anderson moved into seventh on CMU’s career receiving yardage list; he now has 1,836 receiving yards in his career.
Red Keith’s interception in the fourth quarter was the seventh of his career.
CMU has won three straight and six of the last seven over Akron.
