Antonio Brown has accounted for 1,667 all-purpose yards in 2007, a Mid-American Conference record for a freshman.
Western Michigan scored on its first possession of the game, marking the first time CMU had trailed in a conference game since Toledo led 14-10 at the end of the first quarter on Sept. 8.
Western Michigan led 7-3 at halftime. The 10 combined points were the fewest in a half of a CMU game since the Chippewas and Northern Illinois were both scoreless in the second half on Sept. 29.
CMU’s captains for the Western Michigan game were Ike Brown, Red Keith, Justin Gardner and Eric Tunney.
Dan LeFevour was sacked in the second quarter, snapping a string of 17 complete quarters and 165 pass attempts since his last sack.
Dan LeFevour accounted for 338 yards of total offense against the Broncos. He is now the school’s all-time leader with 6,748 career yards of offense. LeFevour moved into first place on a 30-yard rush early in the third quarter.
Bryan Anderson moved into fifth on CMU’s career receptions list. He now has 136 career catches.
Dan LeFevour is now tied for first all-time at CMU with 502 career completions and ranks third with 5,578 career passing yards.
Dan LeFevour threw for 235 yards against Western Michigan, giving him 2,547 for the season. That total ranks fourth on the all-time season total. He also completed 23 passes, giving him 255 on the season, tying him for the most in a single season in CMU history. LeFevour also compiled 307 total yards against the Broncos, giving him the third-most in a single season in CMU history at 3,165.
With the win, CMU wins for the first time at Waldo Stadium since 1993, and defeats Western Michigan in consecutive seasons for the first time since 1993-94. The Chippewas also clinch their second straight West Division title and will return to the MAC Championship Game. In addition, CMU has started consecutive seasons 5-0 in MAC play for the first time since 1979-80.
