MOUNT PLEASANT - Central Michigan University officially began its bowl week preparations with a practice that lasted just over an hour in the Indoor Athletic Complex on Tuesday afternoon.
"I thought today was a good start to the week," said CMU head coach Butch Jones. "We had extremely good focus on the field. Obviously after having a couple of days off we're not in game shape right now, but that will be a step-by-step process. Today was very productive and we had good energy and good spirit."
CMU's players were given Sunday and Monday off after closing last week with practices on Friday and Saturday. The team will practice in Mount Pleasant each day this week through Sunday before departing for Detroit on Sunday afternoon.
The Chippewas will practice at Ford Field in Detroit both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in preparation for the Dec. 26 bowl game.
