Pettit Named MAC West Pitcher of the Week

MOUNT PLEASANT -- Central Michigan University sophomore Ali Pettit (Kentwood, Mich./East Kentwood HS) has been named the Mid-American Conference West Division Pitcher of the Week by the league office.

Pettit went 4-0 in five appearances with a 2.10 ERA. She picked up a win against No. 9-ranked Michigan on Tuesday and tossed a one-hit shutout against the MAC’s top hitting team, Bowling Green, on Saturday.

Pettit threw 20.0 innings and struck out 17. She notched seven strikeouts in a five-inning complete game win over Toledo.

The righty has won 11 of her last 12 decisions, including five straight. She is 12-6 with a 2.54 ERA this season.

It marks the second time this year Pettit has earned the honor. She was also tabbed back on March 11.

The Chippewas are at Michigan State on Wednesday, April 25, for a single game beginning at 4 p.m.
