Calme and Hudson Earn First Team All-MAC Honors

MOUNT PLEASANT Central Michigan University catcher Lindsey Calme (Waterford, Mich./Our Lady of the Lakes HS) and third baseman Amy Hudson (Everett, Wash./Everett HS) have both been named first team All-Mid-American Conference by the league coaches.
Hudson is a three-time first team honoree while Calme is a first-time pick.
Hudson hit a team-high .359 during MAC play with four doubles, one triple, two homers and 12 RBI. Her overall batting average is .306 entering the MAC Tournament with a team-high 11 extra base hits, including four homers. She has driven in 23 runs on the year.
Calme hit .359 during MAC play with three doubles, two triples and eight RBI. She walked eight times in conference games. The catcher is fielding a perfect 1.000 in 224 fielding opportunities this season. Her overall batting average is .242 with 14 RBI.
MAC champion Kent State had a league-best five first team picks.
CMU sophomore Tracy Kaatz was named the recipient of the inaugural Nan Harvey Sportsmanship Award.
Eastern Michigan shortstop Lauren Clark was a repeat selection as the MAC Player of the Year. Kent State pitcher Kylie Reynolds took home both the MAC Pitcher of the Year and MAC Freshman of the Year honors. EMU’s Karen Baird was tabbed the MAC Coach of the Year.
