Quoting Coach Jones
“I liked what I saw from our football team today. I thought we flew around and had a good intensity level. After watching the film from yesterday, I was disappointed in the number of loafs we had. We came out and were aggressive today, but we still need to work on our mental toughness.
“We forced some turnovers on defense which was good to see, but the negative of that is that we’re turning the ball over on offense. That is something our offense needs to correct, and we need to have more passion to secure the football for Central Michigan University.”
Highlight Film Online
A highlight film from the 2006 season produced by CMU video coordinator Chris Leitelt is now available for free through the CMU Sports Zone. The 3:30 video highlights some of the Chippewas’ top returning players on offense and defense.
CMU Sports Zone Schedule
To date, five of CMU’s games this season are slated to be streamed online through the CMU Sports Zone. The Chippewas’ contests at home against Toledo, North Dakota State, Army and Eastern Michigan, as well as the Oct. 27 road game at Kent State, are slated to be streamed live. Any games televised by ESPN or ESPN Regional cannot be streamed through the CMU Sports Zone.
Mingling with the Media
Head coach Butch Jones will make a pair of media appearances this weekend. He will join Jeff Biggs and Patrick Cortes live on Sporting News Radio’s national “Sports Recap” show Saturday at 9:25 p.m. Eastern Time. Jones also will be the featured guest in an “On the Tee” segment on WXMI Channel 17 Sunday at 10:30 p.m. WXMI’s Tim Doty will host the segment.

CMU’s preseason media day is slated for Wednesday, Aug. 15 ... the 2007 CMU football media guide is available online in .pdf format ... the Chippewas will practice once daily through Friday, with the preseason’s first two-a-day slated for Saturday ...
