MOUNT PLEASANT - Members of the Central Michigan University football program recently visited a pair of local elementary schools as part of the Central C.A.R.E. program's Recess with the Chippewas initiative.
Recess with the Chippewas sends CMU student-athletes to area schools to visit with students, read books and play games at recess. In the last two weeks, CMU football players have twice visited Ganiard Elementary School as well as Fancher Elementary School.
"We absolutely love when the football players visit," said Ganiard principal Linda Dinan. "The students have been looking forward to this all week. Having them here really shows their desire to give back to the community."
