CMU’s win was its first against a Big Ten opponent since a 24-20 win at Michigan State in 1992.
The Chippewas’ 7-2 overall record is its best mark through nine games since the 1994 team also opened 7-2.
CMU has now won at least seven games in three straight seasons for the first time since 1983-85.
The 37-34 win at Indiana was CMU’s fourth game this season decided by three points or less. The Chippewas are 4-0 in those contests.
Brian Brunner’s 485 passing yards against Indiana is a new CMU single-game school record. It is just the fourth time a Chippewa has thrown for more than 400 yards in a game.
Brunner finished Saturday’s game with career highs in completions (35), attempts (53), passing yards (485), and touchdown passes (4).
Brunner’s 35 completions is tied for the second-most in school history, while his 53 attempts are the fourth-most in school history.
Brunner’s 460 yards of total offense at Indiana is the fifth-highest single-game total in CMU history.
Bryan Anderson is now CMU’s all-time leader in touchdown receptions. He caught his record-breaking 20th touchdown in the first quarter. The previous record of 19 was shared by Reggie Allen and John DeBoer.
Anderson moved into 15th on the Mid-American Conference’s career receptions list. He now has a CMU-record 209 catches in his career.
Bobby Seay’s fumble recovery on the game’s first possession was the second fumble recovery of his career.
Kito Poblah caught a career-high eight passes for a career-high tying 81 yards. Joe Bockheim caught a career-high six passes and his fourth career touchdown.
Senior left tackle Andrew Hartline made his 48th consecutive start, tied for the longest active streak in the country.
Bryan Anderson has now caught a pass in all 36 games he has played in his career. It is the eighth longest active receptions streak in the country.
Antonio Brown’s touchdown reception in the second quarter was his first scoring catch since Oct. 11, when he caught two touchdown passes in the first half against Temple.
Saturday’s game marked the first time in his career Brian Brunner has thrown multiple touchdown passes in the same game.
CMU scored 21 points in the first half, matching its highest first-half point total this season. The Chippewas also scored 21 first-half points against Western Michigan on Oct. 18.
Indiana’s seven sacks were the most sacks allowed by CMU this season.

Brian Brunner’s 79-yard touchdown pass to Antonio Brown was CMU’s longest play from scrimmage since Ontario Sneed scored on a 96-yard run in the 2006 MAC Championship Game against Ohio. The play was CMU’s longest pass since an 88-yard touchdown throw from Dan LeFevour to Obed Cetoute against Bowling Green in 2006.
Andrew Aguila’s 48-yard field goal in the fourth quarter was a season-long.
CMU was 11-for-19 on third down at Indiana. Over the last three games, CMU is 31-for-50 on third down (62 percent).
