Dan LeFevour accounted for 389 yards of total offense against Eastern Michigan, raising his career total to 11,393 yards and moving him from 29th to 19th on the Bowl Subdivision career yardage list. Among the individuals he passed on Friday were Peyton Manning (11,020 career yards), Ben Roethlisberger (11,075), Carson Palmer (11,093), Doug Flutie (11,317), Chris Leak (11,350) and Antwaan Randle El (11,364).
In Mid-American Conference history, LeFevour now ranks third in total offense, sixth in completions (825) and touchdown passes (72) and eighth in pass attempts (1,267) and passing yards (9,214).
Ontario Sneed’s 33-yard run on CMU’s opening possession was the Chippewas’ longest run from scrimmage this season. He later topped that with a 38-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
Sneed cracked the top 10 of CMU’s all-time rushing yardage list. He now has 2,834 career rushing yards, passing Jim Podoley (2,775) for 10th in school history. He trails Silas Massey by 2 yards for ninth place and Mose Rison by 4 yards for eighth place on the career yardage list.
Sneed also is now in sole possession of eighth place on CMU’s career rushing touchdowns list with 26.
The 93-yard completion from Dan LeFevour to Antonio Brown in the first quarter was the longest pass of LeFevour’s career and longest reception of Brown’s career.
Senior left tackle Andrew Hartline made his 51st consecutive start for CMU, tied for the longest active streak in the country.
True freshman defensive back John Carr made his first career start.
Dan LeFevour scored his 32nd career rushing touchdown, passing Brian Pruitt for fifth on CMU’s career rushing touchdowns list.
CMU’s 35 first-half points were its most in a half since it scored 35 in the second half of the Motor City Bowl last season.
Bryan Anderson extended to 39 his streak of consecutive games with a reception. It is the seventh longest active streak in the country.
Antonio Brown passed Justin Harper for eighth on CMU’s career receiving yardage list.
The 52 points CMU scored on Friday are the most the Chippewas have ever scored in a regulation loss.
Each of the last meetings between CMU and EMU has been decided by five points or less.
CMU had won eight straight MAC road games prior to Friday’s loss.
