MOUNT PLEASANT - Central Michigan University offensive lineman Greg Wojt (Mississauga, Ont./Goetz SS) was selected by the Edmonton Eskimos in the 2008 Canadian Football League Draft on Wednesday.
Wojt was Edmonton's first selection and the draft's 11th selection overall.
Wojt started all 14 games at right tackle for the Chippewas in 2007. He was named CMU's Most Improved Player on offense at the spring game prior to the 2007 season.
He was part of an offensive line that helped CMU produce the only offense that ranked in the top four in the Mid-American Conference in scoring, rushing, passing and total offense last season.
Later in the draft, the Eskimos selected Wojt's high school teammate, Jonathan Hood. Wojt and Hood were co-captains at Father Michael Goetz Secondary School.
CMU won its second consecutive MAC title last season, defeating Miami, 35-10, in the MAC Championship Game. The Chippewas open the 2008 season at home against Eastern Illinois on Thursday, Aug. 28.
