Junior wide receiver Bryan Anderson moved up on both the career receptions and career yardage lists with his nine-catch, 66-yard performance on Thursday night. Anderson passed Justin Harper (167 rec.) to move into third place on the career receptions list with 172, and moved past both Matt Means (2,004 yds) and Ken Ealy (2,064 yds) into fourth place on the career yardage chart with 2,065.
Bryan Anderson’s touchdown grab also moved him up a spot into a tie for fourth with Ken Ealy at 16 career TD catches.
Bryan Anderson has now caught at least one pass in all 29 games of his career. It is the seventh-longest active streak in the country.
Bryan Anderson eclipsed the 2,000-career receiving yard mark on his first catch of the game in the first quarter.
Bryan Anderson had nine catches, the fourth time in his last 13 games he’s grabbed at least that many.
Dan LeFevour is now the career leader in pass attempts at Central Michigan University. His 31 attempts against Eastern Illinois give him 962 passing attempts in his career, two more than previous record-holder Jeff Bender (960 att.).
LeFevour tossed three TD’s in a game for the ninth time in his career. It’s the 16th time in his 29 career starts that he has multiple touchdown throws in a game.
Jean Pitts’ 18-yard touchdown catch in the second quarter was the second touchdown reception of his career. His first scoring catch was a 50-yard reception at Buffalo in 2006.
Ontario Sneed’s 131 all-purpose yards on Thursday are the most he’s put up since 212 against Toledo on Sept. 8, 2007.
Thursday’s game was the 15th in his career in which Ontario Sneed scored a rushing touchdown.
Sophomore wide receiver Sean Skergan’s touchdown catch at 8:02 of the fourth quarter was his first career reception.
Nick Bellore’s 16 tackles tied his career high, a mark he set against North Dakota State last season (9/22/07).
All eight of Justin Hoskins carries came in the game’s final 12 minutes of the game.
Frank Zombo’s 2.5 sacks on Thursday are a career high.
Casey Droscha’s second quarter fumble recovery was the fourth of his career and first since 2006.
Dan LeFevour’s career numbers in three season openers: 62-for-105, 610 yards, five touchdowns and one interception. He’s also run 34 times for 140 yards and two touchdowns.
Dating back to last season, the Chippewas have now scored 30 points or more in seven straight games. It is tied for the longest current streak in the nation. They are tied with Florida, who plays on Saturday. It also extends Central’s streak of 22 games in which the winning team has scored 30 points or more
12 total freshmen played in Thursday’s game, including 10 true freshmen.
Line judge Terri Valenti became only the second female to officiate an NCAA Division I football game when she worked tonight’s matchup between CMU and Eastern Illinois.
