MOUNT PLEASANT - The Central Michigan football team's trip to Kalamazoo for this weekend's game against Western Michigan included an extra stop Friday afternoon.
The Chippewas' caravan drove through campus before stopping in front of the Bovee University Center for a send-off pep rally. Head coach Butch Jones and senior quarterback both addressed the crowd of students, fans and community members.

Members of the Central Michigan ROTC program used the event as the starting point for their annual run with the game ball for Saturday's game. CMU's ROTC members will run the ball halfway to Kalamazoo and meet up with ROTC members from Western Michigan's ROTC who will complete the route.
Kickoff of Saturday's game between Central Michigan and Western Michigan is set for 3:30 p.m. The winner will take home the Victory Cannon, presented annually to the winner of the Central-Western rivalry game.
