Chippewas Collect Votes in National Polls

MOUNT PLEASANT - Central Michigan has earned votes in the national top-25 polls for the fifth consecutive week.

The Chippewas received the 33rd-most points in balloting for the Associated Press poll. CMU was the recipient of the 34th-most points in this week's USA Today coaches' poll.

In both major polls, point values are assigned to each line on a voter's ballot. A No. 1 vote is worth 25 points, a No. 2 vote is worth 24 points and so on through the No. 25 spot, which is worth one point.

CMU's seven-game winning streak was snapped at Boston College on Saturday. The Chippewas enter the regular season's final month 7-2 overall, 5-0 in the Mid-American Conference. CMU is one of just 15 teams in the Bowl Subdivision with at least seven victories in 2009.

CMU is back in action Wednesday, Nov. 11 when it hosts Toledo. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ESPN2 will televise the contest live from Kelly/Shorts Stadium to a national audience.
