CMU Clinches Bid to 2009 MAC Championship Game

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Central Michigan is returning to the Mid-American Conference Championship Game.
The Chippewas will represent the MAC West Division in the conference title game Friday, Dec. 4 at Ford Field in downtown Detroit. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPN2.
CMU will face either Temple or Ohio from the East Division in the championship game. The Chippewas’ opponent will be determined after the MAC regular season concludes on Friday, Nov. 27.
The Chippewas (9-2 overall, 7-0 MAC) will be making their third appearance in the championship game in the past four seasons. CMU defeated Ohio, 31-10, in 2006 and Miami, 31-14, in 2007.
Tickets will go on sale through the CMU Athletics Ticket Office beginning Sunday at 10 a.m. Tickets will be $20 for reserved sideline seats and $10 for student end zone seats. Tickets can be purchased online at cmuchippewas.com, by phone at 1-888-FIRE-UP2 (347-3872) or in person at the ticket office in Rose Center.
CMU will be offering a bus package to the game, and the CMU Alumni Association and Chippewa Athletic Fund will be co-hosting a pregame tailgate party at Ford Field.
