Tissenbaum Named MAC Specialist of the Week

MOUNT PLEASANT — Central Michigan gymnast Darrian Tissenbaum (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon) was named the Mid-American Conference Specialist of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Tissenbaum posted her highest score of the season at Saturday’s tri-meet against No. 14 Denver and Brigham Young. The freshman posted a 9.800 on vault, helping the Chippewas finish the event with a 49.200, their third-highest score in program history.
The Pittsburgh, Pa., native’s score is the sixth best in the MAC this season.
Central opens up its MAC schedule on Saturday when it heads to Eastern Michigan.
