Central Michigan Head Coach Dan Enos
Opening Statement …
"We played well enough in the second half to win the game. At the end of the day, you have to give Bowling Green credit. Give them all the credit. They did a good job."
On what it is going to take to win close games …
"We are not making plays at critical times. We just have to keep pressing on and putting these guys in situations to make them successful."
On game plan coming into the game …
"We really wanted to run the ball. We wanted to shorten the game. We wanted to keep our defense off the field and establish the run and we did that for the most part. We thought that was the best formula to give us a chance to win the game."
On play of defensive backs Vince Agnew and Avery Cunningham …
"Vince practiced hard all week. He had a great attitude and was a leader all week. He stepped up and did a great job today. Avery is a great player and made a great play and a great run."
On frustrations of season …
"I'm very frustrated for our players, coaches and our staff because they work very, very hard. We are working everyday to see how we can correct it."
On getting team ready for next week's game versus rival Western Michigan …
"We'll be ready. We'll get our players ready. Twenty-four hours to feel sorry about this one and then we'll have great practices on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and be ready for them."
Bowling Green Head Coach Dave Clawson
On the winning drive...
"A lot of big plays and once we got across midfield, we got a big first down. They brought a little pressure and Willie (Geter) did a great job in blitz pick up. We had a little shallow crossing route, and (Matt) Schilz did a great job of stepping in there and hit Kamar (Jordan) in the front number and Kamar did a great job punctuating it. At that point it was about how to manage the clock. We didn't want to give them any time left at the end of the game."
On the defense prior to the go-ahead drive...
"Our defense has gotten better each of the last three weeks. And for as maligned a unit as they have been this season, a lot of times when you're team struggles like that it never ever gets better and I should give my defensive coaches and defensive players a lot of credit. To not be winning and to be giving up a lot of points and a lot of yards, to find a way in late October to get better is a challenge. I give those guys a lot of credit. One of their scores was a pick-six, so we gave up seven points to the second-best offense in the conference."
