Jason Drudge Earns All-MAC Honors

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Central Michigan women’s cross country team finished second and the men’s cross country team placed eighth on Saturday at the Mid-American Conference Championships in Kalamazoo, Mich. on Saturday.
Junior Raeanne Lohner led the women’s team and sophomore Jason Drudge paced the men’s squad.
"We are pleased with the way our women competed today and equally excited about their potential to run even better in two weeks," said director of track & field and cross country Willie Randolph.
The program is back in action on November 13 when they compete in the NCAA Regional Championships in Rochester, Mich.
CMU Women Finish Second in MAC
The Chippewas had a second place finish, with 67 points, at the MAC Championships on Saturday. It was the Chippewas second best finish since 2000.
CMU had three all-conference performers, the most since 2000. They were junior Raeanne Lohner, freshman Krista Parks and senior Kylee Kubacki. Lohner placed second in the 6K race with a time of 20:43.7. Parks was the seventh place finisher, with a time of 21:07.6 and Kubacki was 12th with a time of 21:22.6.
"Having three ladies on the All-MAC team is a testament to the positive direction that our program is going," said Randolph. "This is the best finish in this team's history since 2000. Hopefully, they will be the first team to qualify for a NCAA meet."
Junior Holly Anderson finished just outside the all-conference range, placing 17th with a time of 21:35.0.
The other three runners out of CMU’s top seven were sophomore Maddie Ribant, senior Danielle Dakroub and junior Veronica Garcia. Ribant finished 29th with a time of 22:02.9. Dakroub was right behind Ribant, in the 30th place, with a final time of 22:05.0. Garcia placed 51st, with a time of 22:53.0.
Drudge Paces Chippewas
Sophomore Jason Drudge earned himself an All-MAC selection by finishing seventh at the MAC Championships on Saturday with a time of 24:58.8 in the 8K race. CMU finished eighth as a team, with 143 points.
"Jason ran well for our us," said Randolph. "We knew today was going to be a challenge. We have regionals and a bright future to look forward to for our men's team."
The second pack of runners for the Chippewas were seniors Cory Arnold and Chris Pankow. Arnold finished 24th with a time of 25:30.7 and Pankow placed 29th with a final time of 25:37.4.
Junior Jeremy Kiley placed 40th (25:47.2) and redshirt freshman Zach Tranter finished 43rd (26:02.8). Freshman Nathan Huff (26:23.2) and junior Wade Buchs (27:01.6) finished 50th and 58th. Chris Lotz also ran for CMU, finishing with a time of 27:43.9.
