Netto Named MAC Defensive Player of the Week

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Junior goalkeeper Anastasia Netto has been named the Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
Netto made eight saves at Miami on Saturday and five saves at Ball State on Sunday. She helped lead the Chippewas to a crucial win over the Cardinals in Muncie, Ind. as they locked up the No. 4 seed in this week’s MAC Tournament. Netto has a 2.59 goals against average during MAC play this season.
Netto and the Chippewas will host the MAC Tournament at the CMU Field Hockey Complex Thursday through Saturday. CMU will play the first game of the tournament at 11 a.m. on Thursday against the Missouri State Bears.
