CMU Softball to Host Three Clinics, Team Camp

MOUNT PLEASANT — The Central Michigan softball program has announced it will host three winter clinics the weekend of January 22-23 and it's seventh annual indoor team camp Saturday or Sunday, Jan. 29 or 30, 2011.
Both basic and advanced pitching and catching clinics will be held on Saturday, Jan. 22 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The basic clinics are for ages 8-19, while the advanced clinics are for players 12-19. Pre-registration cost is $50, while participants can register the day of the clinic for $60.
A general skills clinic and coaching clinic will be held the following day on Sunday, Jan. 23.
The general clinic will be held from 9:30 am.-12:30 p.m. and 1:30-4:45 p.m. Pre-registration cost is $70, while registration on the day of event will be $80.
A brand new coaches clinic with head coach Margo Jonker will take place from 1:30-3:30 p.m.
Jonker will present on hitting technique, practice planning, game strategy and recruiting information. Following the presentation, there will be a question and answer session allowing for additional topics to be covered.
The 7th Annual Chippewas Softball Indoor Team Camp guarantees teams four games and takes place in the Indoor Athletic Complex on the campus of CMU.
A member of the CMU softball team will coach and instruct each team, which will be divided into two divisions, 18U and 16U.
