Miami Advances to MAC Championship Game

MOUNT PLEASANT -- No. 2 Miami defeated No. 3 Ohio 3-0 Friday in the second semifinal match in the 2010 Mid-American Conference tournament at the Central Michigan Field Hockey Complex.
The RedHawks (14-16) opened the scoring at the 21:56 mark on an Olivia Miller cross to Kelsey Lund. The Bobcats (12-10) had a 10-3 advantage in penalty corners in the contest but were unable to solve the MU defense.
Miami built on its 1-0 halftime lead with insurance goals by Mary Hull and Kylie Landeros.
Courtney Seiders stopped three shots in goal for the Bobcats, and Sarah Mueller knocked aside five for the RedHawks.
The RedHawks advance to the finals against top-seeded Kent State on Saturday at 1 p.m.
