State Farm Scholar-Athlete of the Week - Molly Coldren

MOUNT PLEASANT - Molly Coldren of the CMU softball program is this week's State Farm Scholar-Athlete of the Week.


Coldren led CMU to a 3-0 record last week, including a weekend sweep of Eastern Michigan and a 5-1 win over Michigan State that was the 1,000th career victory for head coach Margo Jonker. Coldren batted .625 (5-for-8) in the three games, with three of her five hits going for extra bases: two home runs and a double. She also walked three times for an on-base percentage of .727 for the week. Against Michigan State, Coldren was 2-for-3 with a homer and scored twice. In the first game against Eastern Michigan, Coldren was 2-for-3 with a double, two walks and two runs scored, while in the second half of the EMU doubleheader she was 1-for-3 with a two-run homer and a walk. Coldren has now set a new CMU single-season record with 10 home runs in 2010.
Coldren is a language arts major with a 3.51 grade-point average.
