Seven Chippewas Honored by Phil Steele's College Preview

MOUNT PLEASANT - Central Michigan linebacker Nick Bellore and center Colin Miller both have been named to the preseason All-Mid-American Conference first team by Phil Steele's College Preview.
Bellore and Miller are among seven Chippewas named to the team by the magazine.
Bellore, who previously was named a second team preseason All-American by NationalChamps.net, also was selected to Phil Steele's All-America fourth team.
Also named to Phil Steele's preseason All-MAC team were defensive tackle Sean Murnane (second team), guard Jeff Maddux (third team), linebacker Matt Berning (third team), tackle Rocky Weaver (fourth team) and punter Brett Hartmann (honorable mention).
A starter in all 41 games of his career, Bellore ranks seventh in school history with 382 career tackles. He enters his senior season just 108 tackles shy of the CMU career record. Bellore led the Chippewas in tackles (132) and tackles for loss (13) last season.
Miller also is entering his fourth season as a starter. He was an All-MAC second team selection in 2009.
Murnane has been an All-MAC third team honoree each of the past two seasons. He started all 14 games last season and led the defensive line in total tackles with 49.
Maddux joins Miller as a four-year starter on the offensive line. He has started games at both left guard and right guard during his career.
Berning posted career highs in tackles (108) and tackles for loss (8.5) last season. He ranked second on the team in tackles and third in tackles for loss.
Weaver successfully transitioned from tight end to tackle last year. He started all 14 games at right tackle in 2009.
Hartmann is entering his third season as the Chippewas' punter. He has averaged 39.2 yards per punt over the past two seasons.
