Chippewas Picked to Finish Second in MAC West Division

DETROIT - Central Michigan has been picked to finish second in the Mid-American Conference West Division in the league's official preseason poll.
A pool of media members covering the conference named Northern Illinois (West Division) and Temple (East Division) as the favorites to meet in the 2010 MAC Championship Game. Temple was predicted to win the title game.
The preseason poll was released Friday morning in conjunction with the conference's preseason media day.
In the West Division, Northern Illinois received 15 of a possible 20 first-place votes. CMU (three) and Western Michigan (two) also received first-place tallies.
Temple received 17 first-place votes in the East Division, while three voters selected Ohio to finish atop the East Division.
Temple (11), Northern Illinois (five) and Ohio (one) each received votes as the predicted MAC Championship Game winner. Three of the 20 media voters did not select a title game winner.
