MOUNT PLEASANT - Senior linebacker Nick Bellore, senior center Colin Miller and senior receiver Kito Poblah have been selected as co-captains of the 2010 Central Michigan football team.
The trio was selected in a vote by teammates following the conclusion of preseason camp.
A fourth senior will be selected as a gameday captain each week during the season.
Bellore is entering his third season as a captain for the Chippewas. He has started each of CMU's 41 games over the past three seasons and enters his senior campaign with 382 career tackles, seventh most in school history. Bellore has tallied more career tackles than any other active player in the NCAA Bowl Subdivision.
Miller and Poblah are both captains for the first time in their careers. Miller is entering his fourth season as the Chippewas' starting center. He was an All-Mid-American Conference second team selection in 2009.
Poblah is a three-year starter who ranks 10th in school history with 110 career receptions. He has caught at least one pass in 24 consecutive games.
CMU opens the 2010 season next Thursday, Sept. 2, against Hampton at Kelly/Shorts Stadium. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
