MOUNT PLEASANT - Sophomore forward Bailey McKeon has been named the Mid-American Conference's Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
McKeon (Fleetwood, Pa./Oley Valley HS) scored her first four goals of the season last weekend, helping the Chippewas earn a sweep of Missouri State and improve to 3-1 in MAC play. McKeon scored her first goal of the season in Saturday's 4-0 win just 6:33 into the contest. She kept things rolling Sunday, recording her first career hat trick, as each of her three goals came in the second half. Eight of the sophomore's 11 shots on the weekend met the keeper, giving her a .727 shots on goal percentage. She is now tied for second on the team in points with four goals and four assists on the season.
This is the second-straight week in which a Chippewa has earned a Player of the Week honor. Senior Brooke Sihota was named the MAC's Defensive Player of the Week last Tuesday.
CMU is back in action Friday when it hosts the MAC leading Bobcats of Ohio at 2 p.m.
