Central Michigan Postgame Notes
Central Michigan at Kent State - November 4, 2011
Richie Hogan's 68-yard punt in the first quarter was a career long.
Courtney Williams' touchdown catch in the second quarter was his fourth touchdown on just his 11th career reception.
Cody Wilson served as the Chippewas' holder on extra points and field goals Friday night. Per NCAA rules, players who appear in a game only to hold on placement kicks do not officially participate, so Wilson's streak of 28 straight games played with a reception remains intact.
Redshirt freshman Billy Myler made his first career reception in the second quarter, an 11-yard catch on third-and-6. Myler also made his first career start.
Freshman Titus Davis posted career highs in receptions (10), receiving yards (192) and touchdown receptions (2).
Titus Davis's 192 receiving yards ranks as the fifth highest single game total in school history.
Freshman Courtney Williams caught a career-high six passes.
Junior quarterback Ryan Radcliff posted his sixth career game of at least three touchdown passes. He has thrown at least three touchdown passes in three of CMU's last four games and four times in 2011.
Radcliff posted his ninth career 300-yard passing game, second most in school history. He has thrown for 295 or more yards in 12 of his 22 career starts.
Junior kicker David Harman had made 10 consecutive field goals prior to his miss on the final play of regulation. He was 17-for-19 in his career inside of 40 yards entering Friday's game.
CMU's leading rusher (Anthony Garland) and top two receivers (Titus Davis, Courtney Williams) were all true freshmen. The trio combined to account for a total of 317 yards rushing and receiving.
Ryan Radcliff now ranks second in CMU history with 503 career completions. Radcliff also moved into third in CMU history with 37 career touchdown passes.
On the Chippewas' single-season record lists, Radcliff is now eighth in passing yards (2,691), seventh in pass attempts (364), seventh in completions (211), sixth in touchdown passes (20) and ninth in total offense (2,633).
Friday's game was the fourth straight decided by seven points or less for the Chippewas and the third straight decided by four points or less. In each of the last four games, the ball has been in the air, either kicked or passed, with no time on the clock and the game in the balance.
