Heinz Named MAC Co-Specialist of the Week

MOUNT PLEASANT - Central Michigan gymnast Emily Heinz was named the Mid-American Conference Co-Specialist of the Week on Monday.

This is the first conference honor for the Heinz, a true freshman from Algonquin, Ill.  She shared the honor with Lindsay Runyan of Kent State.

Heinz helped Central Michigan win the CMU Quadrangular with a first-place finish on beam. Her score of 9.850 matched a career-high and matches the top score in the MAC this season.   The Chippewas clinched a share of the MAC regular season title with a victory over Eastern Michigan at the quad meet.

The Chippewas return to action when they head to New Hampshire on Monday, March 7.  The meet is set for 7 p.m.
