| Tale of the Tape | | | Storylines Welcome Home The Chippewas opened their current six-game homestand with a sweep of Detroit on Wednesday, outscoring the Titans, 21-0, in the two games. CMU, who played just nine games at home last season, will play a total of 16 games at Margo Jonker Stadium this season, including eight of the next nine on their schedule. A Potent Middle of the Lineup Amanda Patrick , Kari Seddon and Molly Coldren , who make up the 4-5-6 hitters of CMU's lineup, went a combined 9-for-13 with three home runs, 13 RBI and eight runs scored in Wednesday's sweep of Detroit. The three players have combined for 58 RBI, 34 runs, 11 home runs and a batting average of .333 on the season from the middle of the lineup. The Best in the MAC Heading into the second weekend of conference play, CMU's pitching staff currently sits atop the conference rankings in team ERA (2.32), batting average against (.209), hits allowed (129), runs allowed (66) and earned runs (56). The 1-2 punch of Kara Dornbos (1.16) and Kari Seddon (2.12) rank first and fifth in individual ERA, while Dornbos entered the week with the league's lowest batting average against (.183). Freshmen Battery The Chippewas have introduced a brand new battery this season in the form of freshmen pitcher Chelsea Sundberg and catcher Cory DeLamielleure . Sundberg is currently 4-2 on the season with a 3.85 ERA and two complete games, while DeLamielleure drove in a career-high three runs in last Friday's 5-1 win over rival Western Michigan. Home Run Champ Junior Molly Coldren hit her 20th and 21st career home runs in a doubleheader versus Detroit on Wednesday, becoming CMU's all-time leader in home runs. Coldren also holds CMU's single-season home run record with 11, which she set during the 2010 campaign. [Program Record Book ] Preseason Poll Tabs CMU Second in MAC West 
 The Chippewas were picked to finished second in the Mid-American Conference West Division as a part of the preseason poll. CMU received four first place votes to Ball State's seven. [Full Release ] 

Chippewas Sign Three During Early Signing Period 
 Head Coach Margo Jonker announced the signing of three future Chippewas during the early signing period in November. CarolAnn Sexauer (Canton, Mich./Canton HS), Chelsea DeLamielleure (St. Clair Shores, Mich/Regina HS) and Tricia Graham (Sparta, Mich./Rockford HS) have all signed National Letter of Intents to play softball for the Chippewas.[Full Release ] |
