CMU Football Team Reports for Preseason Camp

MOUNT PLEASANT - Football season is officially here.
The 2011 Central Michigan football team will report to campus on Thursday for the opening of preseason camp, with the season's first practice slated for Friday afternoon.
Thursday's itinerary includes two full-team meetings in the afternoon, followed by unit and positional meetings at night. On Friday, the Chippewas will run their conditioning test in the morning before returning to the field for their afternoon practice session.

Preseason camp runs through Saturday, Aug. 20, with fall semester classes at CMU beginning Monday, Aug. 22. The Chippewas' preseason media day will be Tuesday, Aug. 16, and the team's photo day is slated for Thursday, Aug. 18.
Thirty-five returning lettermen, including eight starters on offense and six on defense, will report to camp this week. Junior receiver Cody Wilson leads the offense after catching 83 passes for 1,137 yards and five touchdowns in 2010. He was named CMU's Herb Deromedi Most Valuable Player after posting the third most receiving yards and fifth most receptions in a season in school history. Junior quarterback Ryan Radcliff also returns for his second season after posting the third most completions and passing yards in school history last season.
Defensively, the Chippewas' top two returning tacklers are junior defensive back Jahleel Addae and senior linebacker Armond Staten. Addae was credited with 80 tackles, including 3.5 for a loss of yardage, last season, while Staten made 78 stops and forced five fumbles in 2010.
