A West Bloomfield, Mich., native, Coldren enters her senior year as a Chippewa. She finished the 2011 season with 14 home runs, breaking the CMU single-season record, and batted .409, which is the second-best in program history. Coldren was named first-team all-MAC and collected MAC All-Tournament honors.
Merchant, from Wayland, Mich., will begin her junior campaign for CMU. She finished 2011 with a team-high 23 stolen bases, which also led the MAC. She tied a single-game record with four stolen bases versus Toledo and finished the season batting .340. She also collected MAC honors by being named second-team All-MAC.
Dornbos, a junior from Hudsonville, Mich., will look to pick up where she left off last season. She had a team-best 2.25 ERA in 143.1 innings pitched. She finished the 2011 season with three one-hit complete games, while tying her career-high eight strikeouts in a single game. She earned second-team All-MAC honors while having the second best ERA in the conference.
The Chippewas will begin the 2012 campaign in Tempe, Ariz., on Feb. 17 with five games in three days. Their first will come against Minnesota at 1 p.m.
