Chippewas Post 193.050 in Win at Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Central Michigan posted a season-high 193.050 Saturday to open Mid-American Conference competition with a win over Bowling Green in Anderson Arena.
The Maroon and Gold have now claimed 23 straight victories over MAC opponents, including 11 in the regular season.
Senior Kristin Teubner and sophomore Brittany Petzold led the way for the Chippewas (4-0, 1-0 MAC), each posting a 38.200 to tie for first in the all-around. Petzold has now posted first-place finishes in the all-around in both of the Maroon and Gold's two competitions this season.
The Chippewas claimed the top three spots on the uneven bars, as Petzold took the event with a 9.800, freshman Kylie Fagan finished second with a 9.700 and junior Kari Dieffenderfer scored a 9.650 for the third. CMU edged BGSU by more than a half a point, scoring a 47.625 to the Falcons' (1-3, 0-1 MAC) 46.975.
The two teams split the four events on the day, as the CMU also edged BGSU on the beam, 48.450-47.775. The Falcons claimed the floor exercise, 48.875-48.725, and the vault, 48.325-48.250.
Teubner posted a season-best 9.825 in the floor exercise to tie for first with the Falcons' Danielle Wishart and Dawn Christman. She also posted a 9.725 on the vault to tie for fourth.
Freshman Becca Druien continued the stellar start to her rookie campaign, claiming the balance beam with a season-high 9.775. The Chippewas claimed the top two spots in the event as Fagan finished just .025 points behind Druien with a 9.750.
Sophomore Meaghan McWhorter also had a solid showing for the Chippewas, finishing second in vault with a season-high 9.800 and fifth in floor with 9.750.
CMU returns home next Saturday when they host Ball State inside McGuirk Arena at 1 p.m.
