POSTGAME NOTES
- Sophomore wide receiver Titus Davis established a new career high with 208 receiving yards. His previous career-high was 192 yards, set against Kent State in 2011.
- Davis also tied his career-high with 10 receptions (Kent State, 2011).
- Davis is the first CMU player to have over 200 receiving yards since Damien Linson totaled 204 against Miami on September 10, 2005. He is also the first player to record 200 yards receiving against Western Michigan since 2007.
- Davis surpassed 100-yards receiving for the third time this season.
- Davis caught one touchdown pass, a 58-yard scoring connection with Ryan Radcliff in the third quarter, tying him with Ken Ealy (1988-91) for sixth all-time in career touchdown receptions (16) in the CMU record book. With eight in 2012, he is tied for sixth with Greg Hoefler (1966) and himself (2011) for touchdown receptions in a single season.
- Senior quarterback Ryan Radcliff’s surpassed the 300-yard passing barrier for the 14th time in his career, finishing the day with a season-best 383 yards.
- Senior wide receiver Cody Wilson improved his consecutive games with a reception streak to 38, the third longest active streak in the nation. He finished the game with seven catches for 81 yards.
- Junior running back Zurlon Tipton surpassed the 100-yard barrier for the third consecutive game and for the fourth time this season, finishing with 112 yards on 22 carries.
- Tipton’s two rushing touchdowns marks the third time this season he has totaled two or more touchdowns.
- Junior punter Richie Hogans’s 74-yard kick in the second quarter was a career-long. The punt was also the longest of season for CMU.
- Junior linebacker Shamari Benton recorded his first career interception in the second quarter.
- Freshman defensive tackle Jabari Dean tallied his first career sack, taking down WMU quarterback Tyler Van Tubbergen for a seven-yard loss in the second quarter.
- Redshirt sophomore tight end Caleb Southworth’s 28-yard catch in the third quarter was a career-long reception.
- Sophomore wide receiver Courtney Williams’ 38-yard kick return in the fourth quarter was a career long.
- Redshirt sophomore tight end Mike Kinville’s 11-yard reception was a career long.
- Cody Wilson’s two-point conversion catch was the CMU’s first since Titus Davis caught a pass from Ryan Radcliff against Eastern Michigan on September 15, 2011
- CMU had its first field goal blocked since September 25, 2010 when Northwestern’s Jack DiNardo blocked an attempt. Western Michigan’s Freddie Bishop recorded the blocked field goal on a 43-yard attempt by David Harman in the first quarter.
- CMU will venture away from home for the first time in over a month next weekend, visiting Eastern Michigan (1-8, 0-5) for a 1 p.m. game on Saturday, Nov. 10 at Rynearson Stadium. The Chippewas have more wins against Eastern Michigan than any other school in program history (55) but will be looking to avenge a 35-28 loss to the Eagles last season in Mount Pleasant.
