MOUNT PLEASANT - A week after posting their best score of the season in a key Mid-American Conference win over rival Kent State, the Central Michigan gymnastics program will host George Washington Sunday inside McGuirk Arena.
The Chippewas (9-3, 4-0) posted a 194.475 last Saturday for their first mark above a 194 this season and look to be hitting their stride. Senior Kristin Teubner has posted two-straight all-around marks above 39 and sophomore Brittany Petzold clipped 39 for the second time this season versus Kent State as well.
The Colonials (6-7) have posted a season-high score of 193.125 and are coming off a third-place finish at a quad meet in which they fell to No. 10 Penn State and No. 23 North Carolina State.
Sunday's meet is set to begin at 1 p.m.

Chippewas Sweep Awards
Senior Kristin Teubner earned her second-straight Mid-American Conference Gymnast of the Week award and sophomore Meaghan McWhorter was named Co-Specialist of the Week Monday. The Chippewas have garnered at least one of the two awards every week but one during the 2012 season, including four MAC Gymnast of the Week and three MAC Specialist of the Week awards.
26 and Counting
Winners of the last two MAC Championships and last season's regular season crown, the Chippewas extended to 26 their consecutive wins streak verus MAC opponents with their win over Kent State last Saturday. CMU has reeled off 14 straight regular season victories and claimed 12 postseason wins in the process. Its last loss to a conference opponent came on Feb. 13, 2010, against Kent State.
More of Moraw
Freshman Halle Moraw performed in all four events for the first time in her collegiate career last Saturday, scoring a 38.675 all-around score. Moraw had competed in the vault, balance beam and floor exercise earlier in the season, but was added to the bars lineup and scored a 9.8 in her collegiate bars debuts.
One-Two Punch
All-arounders Kristin Teubner and Brittany Petzold have proven to be two of the best gymnasts in the MAC and the top tandem in the conference as well. Both gymnasts have posted a 39 or better twice in 2012, while Petzold's 39.300 is the highest score recorded this season and Teubner's 39.275 ranks second.
Looking Ahead
The Chippewas can claim at least a share of their second-straight MAC regular season title February 26 when they travel to Northern Illinois. CMU is currently the only undefeated team in the MAC after Western Michigan fell to Eastern Michigan last weekend in Ypsilanti, Mich.
