CMU Football Adds Nathan Ricketts to Recruiting Class

MOUNT PLEASANT - Central Michigan head football coach Dan Enos announced Friday the addition of linebacker Nathan Ricketts (Holland, Mich./Holland HS) to the Chippewas' 2012 recruiting class.
Ricketts will join the CMU program this summer and participate in preseason camp beginning in August.
"Nathan will be an outstanding addition to our football program," Enos said. "He is a tough, athletic player who can help our defense for years to come, and we are looking forward to seeing him in the maroon and gold."
Ricketts was a Parade Magazine All-American in 2011 after making 168 tackles (14.0 per game) for a Holland team that finished 9-3 overall, advanced to the regional finals and posted the first two postseason wins in school history. He was named to the Associated Press Division 3/4 honorable mention all-state team, selected to play in the 2012 MHSFCA East-West All-Star Game and ranked No. 52 on the Detroit News Blue Chip list.
Ricketts was credited with a career-high 24 tackles in a 56-50 loss to Kenowa Hills last season. He posted 129 tackles as a sophomore and 118 as a junior, served as Holland's starting punter for three seasons and caught five touchdown passes on offense as a senior.
Ricketts joins a class of 25 other newcomers previously announced on Feb. 1.
