Week Two of Camp Starts with Two-A-Days

"We have practiced very mature," Enos said. "Guys are staying up and we are able to practice with a lot of physical tempos and fast tempos. Guys are responding and practicing the right way."
Combine that fast pace with an experienced lineup and the Chippewas have been able to work on quite a bit of their playbook just seven practices into the season.
"We have a lot installed on both sides of the ball for this early. You're always going to have busts in camp but they have been very limited. Throughout the day we have a lot of time for walk-throughs and a lot of time for video to make sure our installation matches our time to teach."
A lack of injuries has also contributed to the Chippewas' fast start.
"Right now we have a lot of players available. We are able to work not only the ones and twos but also get a lot of work with the threes. When you can do that guys can go longer and can function better at practice."
Despite being just a sophomore, all-conference wide receiver Titus Davis is easily considered one of those veteran returners after earning a spot on Phil Steele's Freshman All-American First Team last fall. Pulling in a 67-yard touchdown pass on his first career catch - the first of what would become a CMU freshman record of eight touchdown receptions - Davis is representative of a roster that may be short on years but is full of production.
"Out here I am more of a leader this year," Davis said of his second preseason camp. "I am looking to build off of last year and as a team just come out and have a better season. We have clicked as a team out here this year."

Notes:
Installation began this week on 2,450 bleacher seats in the south end zone of Kelly/Shorts Stadium. The seats, which will remain up for all seven home games, are located directly behind the sidewalk leading to the student section and will flank both sides of the south scoreboard.
Also on the calendar for this month is installation of a new graphics package in and around the stadium.
The home opener, Thursday, Aug. 30 against Southeast Missouri State, has been selected for live broadcast on ESPN3, giving the Chippewas seven games on the ESPN family of channels.
