Students' Ticket Distribution Plan a Success

A committee of student leaders developed a plan to disperse the tickets to current CMU students at two events this semester, and a third event was added this week.
Through those three events more than 91 percent of the student ticket were distributed to CMU students (9,121).
"Our goal all along has been for every student who wants to attend the game to have that opportunity," said Athletics Director Dave Heeke. "The students' plan worked. I am thrilled that more than 40 percent of our student body will be in the stadium Saturday to create a great atmosphere."
The athletics department has received two ongoing requests throughout the process - 'What if I couldn't come to any of the three events; and can I get more than one ticket?'
Because there are remaining tickets allocated to CMU students, one final pickup opportunity will be held Friday in the SAC.
From 12-1:30 p.m., any current CMU student who DOES NOT already have a ticket may obtain one, while supplies last.
Then from 1:30-3 p.m., any student with a valid CMU ID is eligible to receive two additional tickets free of charge, while supplies last.
Lines will be formed at the east entrance of the SAC.
In addition, 50 tickets will be donated to Tailgate Central for give-aways on Saturday. Tailgate Central is an alcohol-free game day tradition free for students beginning at 11 a.m. in front of the CMU Events Center.
CMU students will be the largest single group in attendance Saturday, accounting for approximately one-third of the crowd.
