MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- The Central Michigan University softball team's doubleheader with Ferris State scheduled for Thursday has been postponed.
The Chippewas and Bulldogs are scheduled to play 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, at Margo Jonker Stadium. It is CMU's final games of the fall season.
"This game will be a chance for us to get another look at our players in a competitive setting, and trying to get everyone quality playing time, as has been our mission this fall," coach Margo Jonker said.
The Chippewas return home after spending last weekend in Traverse City facing off against Western Michigan, Oakland and Michigan in a round-robin tournament at Traverse City West High School.
"I thought it was a great weekend for us, we had a lot of opportunities for our players to get to know themselves better and each other as teammates," Jonker said. "We went 2-2 overall, but I thought the team played well and it was a very successful weekend for us."
The Chippewas beat rival Western Michigan and Oakland before losing to Michigan, 5-2, in the final game. The Chippewas dropped a game to the Wolverines during round-robin play.
