
Chippewas Fall in 5 at Eastern Michigan

YPSILANTI, Mich. - The Central Michigan volleyball team fell to Eastern Michigan in five sets Thursday night, dropping the Chippewas to 9-14, 4-7 in the Mid-American Conference.
The Chippewas dropped the first two sets, 25-23, 25-21, before claiming the third, 25-21, and fourth, 29-27. The Eagles sealed the victory with a 15-13 edge in the fifth.
Junior middle blocker Angelique White led the Chippewas in kills with 15, while Kaitlyn McIntyre added 14 and Jordan Bueter added 10. Freshman setter Kylie Copple had five kills on a .385 hitting percentage and tallied 46 assists and 10 digs.
CMU recorded 14 blocks on the night, 4.5 from Bueter, a freshman outside hitter. Kristen Reenders paced CMU's defense with 28 digs, while McIntyre added 14 and Bueter had 13.
CMU had a total of 28 errors on the attack and recorded a hitting percentage of .189. They also tallied 14 serve-receive errors on the night.
Five Eagles recorded double digits in kills, ledy by Stacy Perinar with 14. EMU is 15-10, 6-5.
The Chippewas travel to Kent State (12-12, 4-7) for a MAC match on Saturday night.
