Chippewa Catcher DeLamielleure Named First-Team All-MAC

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Four Central Michigan softball players earned spots on the All-Mid American Conference teams, which were announced Tuesday.
Catcher Cory DeLamielleure earned a spot on the first team, Trista Cox and CarolAnn Sexauer were named to the second-team, and Rachael Knapp landed a position on the all-freshman team.
Cox, DeLamielleure and Sexauer were named to the second-team in 2013.
The Chippewas (32-20) open the MAC Tournament on Wednesday in Akron against the host Zips.
DeLamielleure, a senior and a four-year starter behind the plate, is hitting .278, is tied for third on the team with seven home runs, and is second with 27 RBI.
She also leads the Chippewas with 14 doubles, is third with 13 stolen bases (in 15 attempts), and has thrown out 17 of 23 would-be base stealers.
Cox, a junior third baseman, leads the Chippewas in hitting (.350), home runs (12), RBI (38), slugging (.650), on-base percentage (.391), runs (31), hits (56) and total bases (104), and is among the top 10 in the MAC in each of those categories.
Sexauer, a junior shortstop, is second on the team in hitting at .321 to go along with seven home runs and 22 RBI.
Knapp, a right-handed pitcher, has posted a 2.28 earned run average and a 13-4 record in 25 appearances, 13 of them starts.
Her wins and ERA are team-bests, as is her .214 opposing batting average. She ranks third in the MAC in opposing batting average, fourth in ERA, 10th in wins, and seventh in strikeouts (128).
