
Trowbridge Selected by the Baltimore Orioles

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Central Michigan's Matt Trowbridge was taken in the 13th round Saturday in the Major League Baseball entry draft.
Trowbridge, a junior left-hander, was selected by the Baltimore Orioles with the 391st pick in the draft.
Trowbridge was the second Chippewa selected in the 2014 draft behind right-handed pitcher Jordan Foley, who was taken in the fifth round by the New York Yankees.
Trowbridge appeared in 16 games in the 2014 season for CMU, finishing with a 2-2 record, five saves, and a 2.59 earned run average. In 31 1/3 innings, he struck out 43, allowed 17 hits, and walked 24.
