
Seven Chippewas Earn Academic Honors

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Seven Central Michigan student-athletes received academic honors from the Mid-American Conference.
Four Chippewas - Matt Trowbridge, Nick Regnier, Logan Regnier and Jordan Foley - were named to the Academic All-MAC baseball team.
Three others - Pat MacKenzie, Jimmy McNamara and Adam Aldred - received honorable mention.
Central Michigan tied Toledo and Eastern Michigan with four members each selected to the all-academic squad.
To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 grade point average and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
First-year students and junior college transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award.
Trowbridge, a left-handed pitcher and an accounting major with a 3.98 GPA, is now playing with the Aberdeen IronBirds, the Baltimore Orioles Class A short season affiliate.
Foley, a right-handed pitcher and an entrepreneurship major with a 3.25 GPA, is now playing with Staten Island, the New York Yankees Class A affiliate.
Nick Regnier, a junior outfielder, carries a 3.42 GPA and is an accounting major, while his brother, Logan, a sophomore outfielder, carries a 3.32 GPA.
