
Kaminska Receives Quick Minor League Promotion

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Former Central Michigan pitching ace Pat Kaminska has made a quick impression in his short time in the minor leagues, recently receiving a promotion from Short Season Class A to Class A.
Kaminska, who signed with Texas Rangers following the MLB Draft in early June, was promoted from the Rangers' Arizona Rookie League team to the Hickory Crawdads, a North Carolina-based Texas farm team that plays in the South Atlantic League.
During his brief time in the AZL, Kaminska excelled, compiling a 0.00 ERA in six appearances. He recorded four saves, surrendered just three hits and struck out 12 against no walks. Batters hit just .091 against Kaminska during his 10.1 innings of work.
Kaminska, a hard-throwing right-hander was named to the All-Mid-American Conference First Team and the All-Mideast Region American Baseball Coaches Association Rawlings Second Team in 2014, his last a Chippewa. He finished 8-3 with a 2.47 earned run average in 15 appearances, 14 of them starts.
Kaminska ranked third in the league in ERA, tied for third in wins, second in walks issued (14) and fifth in opposing batting average (.239). He was twice named the MAC West Division Pitcher of the Week this season, and was named CMU's Co-Most Valuable Player. Kaminska also earned the Chippewa Award, which goes annually to the player who epitomizes the program and its mission statement.
