McIntyre Named MAC Offensive Player of the Week

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Central Michigan's Kaitlyn McIntyre was named the Mid-American Conference West Division Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.
McIntyre, a senior outside hitter, earned tournament Most Valuable Player honors in leading the Chippewas to the championship of the Cincinnati Invitational.
In three matches, all victories, McIntyre hit at a .302 clip, recording 43 kills, six service aces, five blocks (two solos), and 32 digs. She recorded 16 kills in a 3-1 win over Tennessee State, 14 against Charleston Southern, and 13 against Cincinnati. She averaged 4.77 points and 2.91 digs per set.
McIntyre, who hails from Beaver Dam, Wis., is a two-time All-MAC selection. The Chippewas (5-7) have won four consecutive matches and four of their last five. They play host to Eastern Michigan on Thursday in their conference opener.
