Chippewa Softball Signs Two

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- Central Michigan softball coach Margo Jonker announced the signing of two players to National Letters of Intent.
The players are catcher Charliene Bryant of Shepherd and utility player Andrea Perlberg of Frankenmuth.
Bryant hit .488 with three home runs and 45 RBI last season in helping lead the Bluejays a district championship. She collected a school-record 13 doubles and finished with a .716 slugging percentage.
Through 21 games this season, Bryant has hit .426 with three homers, 22 RBI, 11 doubles, and her slugging percentage stands at .721.
Perlberg, a prototypical leadoff hitter who bats from the left side, is a career .341 hitter with 39 RBI and a school record 59 stolen bases. She set a school record with 27 stolen bases as a junior in 2014. Through 21 games this season, she is hitting .471 with 17 stolen bases.
CMU finished 27-23 in 2015, falling in the Mid-American Conference tournament semifinals.
